Welcome to The Lighthouse
The Blue Lighthouse is an alternative provision working with young people who are struggling to access education. Many of the young people we work with have EBSA, school based trauma, SEMH needs, special educational needs or school uses us to enhance their curriculum offer.
Our aim as an alternative provision is to support young people to access education and reintegrate with school.

Play Assisted Learning
Play-based learning is, essentially, to learn while at play. This can be beneficial for children of all ages. We offer guided play, which is play that has some level of teacher guidance or involvement.
Animal Assisted Learning
Animal-Assisted Learning (AAL) involves an animal and a facilitator in a learning environment. We offer AAL to assist an individual or group to develop skills, tools and strategies to achieve.
SEND consultation
We offer consultation for Parents, Carers and school.
In Person Tuition
We offer in person tuition in Maths, English, Science, Humanities and PSHE.
We offer Functional Skills qualifications from Entry level 1 up to Functional Skills level 2 in both Maths and English.
Creative Wellbeing
Our Therapeutic Arts practitioner holds Creative wellbeing sessions.
Parent and Professional Training
We offer a number of training opportunities for adults working with children and young people.
Forest School
We offer Forest school and Bush Craft sessions with our fully qualified forest school practitioner.
